5 Tips on How to Motivate Yourself and Become a Better Person Than Before!

Love Sharing? Do the Honors!

Some days you are ready to tackle all the things that would come on your way; other days, you feel heavy and find it difficult to get going. Well, you are not an exception if you think the same. Everyone in this world is putting their best efforts and doing their best to overcome situations. But sometimes, passion, habits, and a pleasant environment can fail.

For those who never procrastinate and drag their feet when they are up to something, you are doing GREAT! But for rest like me, it is pretty good to search for ways on how to motivate yourself. Carrying a pool of motivational boosters and encouraging thoughts in mind, can push you for good. Whether you are trying to lose weight or want to overcome depression, motivation can drive you to get something done.

While the majority of people find their friends and family as motivation, some walk around complaining they have no one to motivate them. If you fall into the latter category, then remember, no one can break you down, and nothing can stop you from reaching goals. Also, no one can encourage you better than yourself. Don’t worry if you are struggling and googling for the phrase ‘how to stay motivated.’ Here I have shared practical tips that would trigger you to find your purpose.

Wondering How to Motivate Yourself? Try These 5 Simple Ways

1. Ask Yourself Why You Want to Do That Particular Thing

Make a habit of writing down all the important things and activities you want to do. Question yourself, can these habits bring a smile on your face? If possible, build a board with different pictures that represent these activities and can remind you of what you want to achieve in your life. Make a promise and reward yourself. For instance, promise yourself, if you finish this work before 9 p.m, you will have your favorite food today.

2. Start With Small Chunks to Make Any Task Easier

The key to pull-off any work is to do it smartly. If it seems impossible to do a particular task, then break it into manageable parts. Breaking it down avoids procrastination. Then, prioritize it accordingly.

Tip: Use different colors/sticky notes to mark off tasks. This way, things will be organized, and you won’t skip the steps in the process.

3. Avoid Multitasking and Take Breaks

Doing multiple tasks at the same time can make you less productive. Checking emails, stories, chatting on WhatsApp, all at random can make you suffer. Focus on one task and commit to it. Schedule breaks for the day to keep yourself refreshed, creative, and focused. You might not have the luxury of sleeping for an hour during office time, but walking away from work even for 10 minutes, can stimulate your brain. It will help you in making a better decision and prepare for the next task.

Don’t always wait for MOTIVATION to begin with any task. Be CONSISTENT and Everything will Fall into Place.

4. I Can Do it

Which phrase gives you a sigh of motivation – I Can Do It or Can I Do It? Remember if you can dream it, you can do it. Push yourself harder and be your critic. Instead of judging others based on their stories, focus on yourself, and send positive affirmations. Remember that everyone you meet in life has a different perspective. Don’t let anything stop you and train your mind to think positively.

5. Celebrate Your Failures

This might sound weird to you. But the most important and imperative lessons you learn in life comes from what you don’t achieve. Take your time and understand where did you fail. You will not always be RIGHT, forgive yourself, learn from failures, and move on. Just because you fail, it doesn’t mean this is the end of your life. Bounce back and add on flexibility in the next attempt. Failure is a starting point to move on.

Final Words

Have you ever wondered where life is taking you? In which direction are you grooming yourself, and what should be the next step to make for a better future?  If not, then this is the RIGHT time to focus on yourself. No worries, if you don’t have anyone to encourage you, learn how to motivate yourself, and be your cheerleader. Beat-down self-doubt and accept that you are AWESOME!

  1. I love your final statement of celebrating our failures. In life there’s ups and downs and we have to go through them to reach a common goal. Like you mentioned, inspiration doesn’t come every day. We need motivation and strive to become who we want to be!

  2. I particularly love the advice to not multi task. Whenever I try to do too much at once, I feel like I’m not doing anything to my full potential, and then just get down on myself. Thank you for the reminder that I should give myself the time to give tasks my full attention, I know it makes me a better person in the long run.

  3. The multi-tasking one is definitely the hardest for me! I am always trying to do too many things at once and then feel like I get nothing done. I love the idea of breaking it into smaller chunks. Great tips!
